Dr. Shinkai Hakimi

Dr. Shinkai Hakimi completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Washington University in St. Louis and then went on to medical school, residency, and fellowship at the University of Iowa. She is a board-certified internal medicine, pulmonary, and critical care physician.
Dr. Hakimi is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at UC Berkeley, focusing on global medicine and community-based programs. Her passion lies in finding innovative solutions to deliver healthcare in underserved regions, with a particular emphasis on refugee health.
Dr. Hakimi has been actively involved in various local and international projects aimed at improving healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Outside of work, Dr. Hakimi enjoys the outdoors, hiking, trail running, and learning how to surf. She also enjoys painting with a special interest in oils and watercolor.
